Pop Sensibility

Right! Please write that down: how to sing for that desirable pop sound and all the things I should sing about so you and your friends can get down. [Be]cause look at me, I'm here to please. All I want to do is appease. We lack pop sensibility, but we make up for it with charm. We lack your pop sensibility, but we're not doing any harm.
I hate the radio and all our conversations, marked with disconnect and misused punctuation, [be]cause see now I think it's pretty weak we're both just waiting for our next turn to speak, and all my favorite things will never be your favorite things, and that's just killing me.

What is a life? What is alive?
There are so many things I can touch and I can change, I realize, as I sit on your bed in your room, trying to re-purpose your things while you change to go out.
I think there are some happy mediums, maybe not always.
My interest lies in all the bedrooms I walk by - also the trees and the books and the patterns they're arranged it. With all this time what I need is something to take me by surprise.

There's no use getting up if you're not going to get down. I'll sit with the autists because they won't make a sound. They're worried about silly things like touching knees, like me, and eye contact is such a fleeting thing.
For lack of metaphor, I can't erase those parts of me. Still, I think we'll cut this scene.
Forget casual let's keep it weird. I'm starting to think that weird is normal the longer I'm here. When you see me these days, do you think to yourself "why get up if you won't get down?"
I can make up metaphors, but I can't erase those parts of me.

You can keep us in a hutch and you can leave us in the cold - why don't you take a rest? We all see you're getting old.
Here we are with another sad gorilla, talk about a tragedy. [Be]cause you know the best way to bring down a dragon is to talk about mortality.
The crops are drying out and it's all [be]cause I'm a fool, and there's no water left and that's probably my fault too. It's all I can say: I'm so fucking stupid I could cry. So I'll toast to my misfortune and drink deep into the night.
in the end
we're all bunnies too
hop hop hop
right into you
